"I consider my photographs fashion portraiture as opposed to fashion photography. I'm less interested in the clothes and more interested in the model. I love faces; I'm fascinated by people and their stories. When I photograph models, we spend a lot of the time talking, getting to know each other. I used to be quite shy when meeting new people, but working with models has helped bring me out of my shell.
I'm not interested in just using a model as a body to exhibit clothes. I want the model to take part in conceptualizing the concept behind a shoot. I find my best works and the shoots I enjoy the most are the most collaborative ones."
